The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog, has rolled out Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, one of the world’s largest student innovation events. The registration window closes today, October 6, 2025.

PM Modi to inaugurate nationwide live buildathon

The initiative is open for students from Classes 6 to 12, and applications can be submitted at the official website: vbb.mic.gov.in. The event aims to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration among school students while aligning with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The highlight of the programme will be the National Live Buildathon on October 13, 2025, which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Students across the country will take part simultaneously, making it a first-of-its-kind event.

According to officials, this initiative will not only promote hands-on, experiential learning but also bring together schools, teachers, and students on a global platform of recognition.

How To Register For Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025

Students and schools can register through a simple online process.

  • Visit the official website – vbb.mic.gov.in
  • Click on “Register/Login” on the homepage
  • Fill  the required details
  • Log in with the credentials and complete the application

Schools may also register directly through the “School Teacher Registration 2025” link. Each team should consist of five to seven students, and schools are free to submit multiple teams.

Eligibility criteria for students

Over one crore students from 1.5 lakh schools are expected to participate this year. Each team will consist of five to seven members, with schools free to register multiple teams.

  1. Each team must have 5–7 students.
  2. Schools may send multiple teams.
  3. Teachers will act as mentors during the event.
  4. Submissions can include concepts, working models, or prototypes.

All participating teams will receive digital participation certificates from the Ministry of Education.
