Women’s safety is still a big issue in India and a recent incident in Bengaluru has got everyone angry and concerned. A viral video on social media shows three young women narrating a terrifying experience of being followed and chased by unknown men near Rameshwaram Cafe.
The video shared by @suha_hana88 on Instagram shows the women shaken as they recount how three men in a car started stalking them. According to them, it happened early in the morning after they visited the cafe. While walking in JP Nagar, they saw three men following them on foot. Things got more scary when the men returned with a car and blocked their way.
Auto Driver’s Apathy Raises Questions
Even as the women managed to book a Rapido auto to escape, the men started chasing them in their car. One of the women says in the video, “We tried to talk to the auto driver but he didn’t care. It’s getting creepy because they are still following us.” She adds that they lost the stalkers only after they went through heavy traffic.
The video has gone viral and people are expressing concern over the lack of immediate help and the auto driver’s inaction. “Three creepy men, three traumatized girls” the caption of the video reads — a chilling summary of the incident that has resonated with many.
Public Demands Action and Better Safety Measures
Social media users asked the women to file a police complaint and shared tips on how to handle such situations. One user commented, “Stay in a crowded area, take a circular route to confirm if you’re being followed and never go straight home. If they persist, go to the nearest police station.”
While the girls are safe, the traumatic episode has once again highlighted the need for better enforcement, public awareness and a responsive system for women in India.
