Jack Schlossberg, grandson of President John F. Kennedy, recently launched into a fiery rant against CNN’s coverage of newly released government documents related to his grandfather’s assassination. Schlossberg, 32, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, calling the coverage “so f–king stupid” while visibly agitated in a video he shared.
The controversy began when the Trump administration followed through on its promise of transparency, releasing a trove of 80,000 documents concerning the 1963 assassination of JFK. While many historians and journalists were eager to comb through the files for new insights, Schlossberg was less than impressed by the media’s focus on the topic.
Schlossberg’s reaction
In his now-viral video, Schlossberg could be seen exasperatedly questioning why CNN was dedicating time to the release. He called out specific CNN anchors, including Harry Enten and Erin Burnett, expressing disbelief that they were covering the event. His frustration didn’t stop there—he followed up with a series of provocative posts on X, including a sarcastic remark: “WHAT THE JFK FILES SAY ABOUT ME IS NOT TRUE. IM STRAIGHT.”

Schlossberg also criticised his cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and claimed that while the Kennedy family was not informed about the document release, RFK Jr was aware of it in advance. He accused his cousin of undermining JFK’s legacy and took a jab at Republican Senator Mike Lee for discussing the files.
Opposition to declassification
Schlossberg’s frustration wasn’t new. He previously voiced his disapproval when the Trump administration announced plans to declassify the JFK assassination documents. He argued that the move was political, using his grandfather’s legacy as a prop, rather than an act of historical transparency.
