Canadian adventure influencers Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans, who were popular for their YouTube channel ‘Toyota World Runners,’ lost their lives in an off-roading accident in British Columbia.
Around 7:30 p.m. local time, Kaslo Search and Rescue (SAR) arrived at the crash scene, which was a remote forestry road in the West Kootenay region close to Trout Lake, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

As per SAR manager Mark Jennings-Bates, one victim was discovered at the scene without vital signs, and the other was taken to the hospital, where they subsequently passed away. Although the cause is still being investigated, he added, rough terrain and a potential loss of control are suspected.

Tourout and Yeomans, both from Nanaimo, British Columbia, gained a global following by documenting their overlanding projects and trips. They have around 74,000 Instagram followers and over 200,000 YouTube subscribers. Their channel detailed their plans to drive the Pan-American Highway and their construction of the first Land Cruiser Chinook in history in just 100 days.
The couple, engaged since April 2024, frequently shared updates from their travels. Their final Instagram post, uploaded six days before the accident, showed them enjoying summer on Vancouver Island.
In a statement on Facebook, Tourout’s mother, Colleen, confirmed the deaths, calling it “an unimaginable heartache” and describing their passing as “the devastating end to an amazing love story.”
Authorities have not confirmed whether the pair were filming at the time of the crash.
