At the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a remarkable spiritual creation is capturing the attention of thousands of devotees. In Shiv Nagari, 12 grand Jyotirlingas, crafted from an astounding 7 crore 51 lakh Rudraksha beads, are drawing visitors from all corners. Located in Sector 6, each Jyotirlinga stands 11 feet tall, 9 feet wide, and 7 feet thick, with a garland of Rudraksha beads draped around it. The beads, collected through a journey across 10,000 villages, add a unique and sacred touch to this spiritual attraction.

Speaking to PTI about the Jyotirlingas created under the open sky, Mauni Baba shared, “The aim behind this project is to eradicate terrorism and protect Bangladeshi Hindus. An iron Shivling was constructed, and Rudraksha beads were placed around it.” He further explained, “Many years ago, I made a vow to establish a Jyotirlinga made of Rudraksha. For the past 37 years, I have been crafting and worshipping Shivlings made from Rudraksha. The Jyotirlingas here use white, black, and red Rudraksha, ranging from one Mukhi to 26 Mukhi.”

Mauni Baba explained that Shiv Nagari, entirely made of Rudraksha, is a one-of-a-kind city in the world, where six Shivlings face south and six face north. He also highlighted that the Mahakal Shivling is the only Shivling in the world that faces south.

He explained that Rudraksha is akin to an idol, requiring Pran Pratishtha (consecration) to activate its power. According to him, Rudraksha should not be worn without this ritual, as it only fulfills wishes after the Pran Pratishtha is performed.

The Baba mentioned that one-faced and two-faced Rudraksha are quite rare, while three-faced white Rudraksha can be found in select locations. He also stated that four-faced Rudraksha is associated with Purushaarth, five and six-faced Rudraksha are intended for householders, and seven-faced Rudraksha is regarded as the most beneficial for students.

He further explained that if eight and nine Mukhi Rudraksha are ‘siddh’ (perfected), Goddess Lakshmi will never leave the house. Ten and eleven Mukhi Rudraksha, he added, help in advancing one’s career. He also emphasized that Rudraksha should not be bought and worn, but should only be worn when gifted by someone else.

Mauni Baba also mentioned that devotees visiting Shivnagari are being given accurate information about Rudraksha, helping to clear any misconceptions. Camps set up by Netra Kumbh, Divya Prem Seva Mission, and Swaminarayan Akshardham are drawing crowds along Bajrang Marg in Sector 6 of Mahakumbh Nagar.
