YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia recently shared an update on Instagram after the Mumbai police struggled to trace him due to his phone being switched off. Amid the controversy surrounding his remarks on the “India’s Got Latent” show, he revealed that he had been receiving death threats but assured his followers that he is cooperating with authorities.

In his Instagram post, Ranveer wrote: “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other authorities. I will follow due process and be available to all agencies. My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful. It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry.”

He also addressed the threats, saying, “I’m watching death threats pour in from people saying that they want to kill me and hurt my family. People have invaded my mother’s clinic posing as patients. I’m feeling scared and I don’t know what to do. But I’m not running away. I have full faith in the police and the judicial system of India.”

Mumbai Police’s search for Ranveer

Earlier on Saturday, PTI reported that Mumbai police were unable to trace Ranveer as his phone remained off. The police had earlier called comedian Samay Raina to appear for questioning by March 10 regarding the controversy over Ranveer’s comments on Samay’s now-deleted YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.

Ranveer’s controversial remarks about parents and sex on the show sparked massive backlash, prompting several complaints. Khar police reported difficulty reaching Ranveer, known for his BeerBiceps channel, as his phone remains off.

Despite a previous request to record his statement at his residence, the police were unable to reach him after visiting his flat in Versova.

While the police have recorded statements from eight people, including YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani, Ranveer’s manager, and others, no FIR has been filed yet. Maharashtra Cyber has summoned at least 50 individuals to provide statements, including participants from the show. Actor Raghu Ram, a judge on the panel, also recorded his statement with the agency on Thursday.
