Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who has been receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, recently spoke about whether these threats instil fear in him. He stated that he believes in God and trusts that he will live for as long as he is meant to.

Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai [It’s all up to God, Allah. I’ll die when I have to die. That’s all],” Salman Khan said during a promotional event for his upcoming movie Sikandar.

The 59-year-old actor also reflected on the challenges of constant security and entourage. The promotional event took place amid highly secured, off-camera press meet.

He added, “Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai [Sometimes, you have to take so many people along with you, and that becomes the problem].”

Salman Khan’s security has been beefed up after several death threats and a shooting incident outside his house in Bandra, Mumbai, last year. A bulletproof glass panel was also installed on the balcony of his house.

Why does Lawrence Bishnoi want to kill Salman Khan?

The feud between Lawrence Bishnoi and Salman Khan stems from the 1998 blackbuck shooting case. The actor is accused of hunting two blackbucks in a village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The blackbuck, also known as Chinkara, is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.

Salman Khan plays the titular role in Sikandar alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal. Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is set to hit theatres on March 30.
