It’s raining fame and success over at Apple TV. Hot off the glorious box office run of Brad Pitt’s Formula-One racing drama film F1: The Movie as the platform’s highest-grossing theatrical film ever, Apple is back to track to roll out the red carpet for what was once its biggest show, Ted Lasso, until Severance usurped the top spot as the most-watched Apple TV show of all time.
Even the tech giant’s CEO Tim Cook took to his X profile to officially sound the alarm on the beloved TV series making its well-anticipated comeback soon. Sharing the first look of the show’s fourth season, which at one point may not even have happened, he wrote, “From biscuits to BBQ: Ted Lasso Season 4 kicks off production in Kansas City!” At the time of writing, the X post has already amassed over a million views.
The past three seasons have seen Lasso and assistant Coach Beard adopting the Wizard of Oz signature of “We’re not in Kansas anymore.” However, the in-production fourth addition to the life-changing saga, outrightly declares the very opposite, “We’re not in Richmond anymore.”
Ted Lasso Season 4 first look: Tim Cook teases the beloved series’ return
Fortunately, as the show has taught us through its much-loved three season-run so far, the power of believing got us this far. Flipping another feared rumour on its head, the sneak peek confirmed the titular leading man, Jason Sudeikis, back in action as well. The snap, as shared by Tim Cook, shows Jeremy Swift, Hannah Waddhingham and Juno Temple affectionately looking at Sudeikis’ Lasso, while he matches that energy and reciprocates the sentiment at a diner/restaurant.

The core quartet is spotted enjoying BBQ in classic American style. While Ted switched embraced the “biscuits with the boss” lifestyle in Richmond, now the others will are expected to warm up to his BB!-loving nature until they finally fly back for more football action.
Cook’s headline tease confirmed that Ted Lasso Season 4 is now filing in Kansas City, switching from the Apple TV original’s usual England setting. The decision to shoot from across the pond reflects a reversal of the very first season that signalled Lasso being recruiting from Kansas to coach the football team AFC Richmond in England. However, at the end of the third season, Ted leaves it all behind to move back in with his son in the US.
The upcoming Ted Lasso Season 4’s filming snap hints at the core members flying to Kansas City to bring back Sudeikis’ character to England to coach yet another team.
“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team,” the official synopsis of the forthcoming installment. “Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Ted Lasso Season 4 cast and release date
Although an official release date for the fourth season has yet to be confirmed, Phil Dunster aka Jamie Tartt’s future in the Richmond lot seems gloomy as he signed on to be a series regular in a Steve Carell-led HBO comedy. Deadline noted that he still might join his loving cast this season in a “limited capacity.”
As the first look at Season 4 confirms, Jeremy Swift, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple and Jason Sudeikis will be reprising their roles. Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent, and Brendan Hunt, famed for his eccentric Coach Beard avatar, will also be back for the new season.
Newcomers, on the other hand, include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey and Abbie Hern. Lasso’s son Henry, who was previously played by Gus Turner, has been re-cast with Grant Freely stepping into the young one’s shoes.
