Food blogger, Nalini Unagar, said that the best city to live in is the one that has a population of 5,00,000 (five lakh if you had difficulty in counting). In her post on X (formerly Twitter), she tied it to a “good quality life” and asked her followers to name cities that have all “basic plus entertainment facilities”.
‘City with less than 5,00,000 people is best’
“If you want a good quality life, choose a small town…,” Unagar said in her social media post.
She went on to list a few things she believes are essential for a quality life. “…good roads, a few restaurants, a lake, a garden, a few hospitals, 2-3 good schools, 1-2 banks, a surgery hospital, a few big brands, 1-2 theatres, and a small bus and train station,” she expressed.
The YouTuber, who began sharing recipes in 2021, included a figure in her post that she believes should be the population limit of a town or city to ensure a good quality of life.
“A city with a population of less than 5,00,000 is the best place to live,” she declared, before adding, “These cities have all the basic plus entertainment facilities for a quality life.”
People ‘voted’ for their favourite city
Her post, which was shared on July 26, has clocked in more than 1.4 million views and numerous comments. Many even flocked to the comments section of her post to “drop” names as she asked.
One social media user, who “totally agreed” with her, thinks “Gandhinagar in Gujarat ticks all boxes”.
“Wide, peaceful roads, gorgeous gardens (Sarita Udhyan), lakes nearby, great hospitals & schools (IIT-Gandhinagar!), few malls + branded stores, theatres, banks, bus/train connectivity and population? Just less than three lakh. Super green, super clean, he reasoned.
The user ended her post with the words that “Ahmedabad chaos is 20 minutes” if and when someone misses it.
“Udaipur,” suggested another, to which Unagar said that she wants to stay in the city once.
Yet another social media user asked Grok: “Can you suggest names of cities in India which satisfy the above conditions?” The AI chatbot responded with the names of three cities: Puducherry, Udaipur, and Mysore.
“Bhopal! Crazy natural greenery, amazing lakes, super clean. It’s a literal urban heaven,” read another comment under her post.
