Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) ‘s IPL 2024 journey with a 4-wikcet win at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday.

Batting first, RCB posted a total of 172/8. Rajat Patidar was the top scorer with 34 off 22 balls, while Virat Kohli contributed 33 off 24 before falling to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Mahipal Lomror added a quick 32 off 17 balls. For the Royals, senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin impressed with figures of 2/19 in his four overs, dismissing Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell in consecutive balls. Avesh Khan also shone, taking 3/44 in his four-over spell.

In response, Rajasthan Royals chased down the target of 173 with six balls to spare, finishing at 174/6 in 19 overs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal set the pace with a 30-ball 45. Contributions from Riyan Parag (36) and Shimron Hetmyer (26) were crucial in steering the Royals to victory. Mohammed Siraj was RCB’s best bowler, taking 2/33.

With this win, Rajasthan Royals advance to the second eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, while RCB’s IPL campaign ends with this defeat.
