The post originated from a Facebook page called the ‘Sport Memery’. The intro of the Facebook page says, “Satire/Parody & memes. Nothing is real here. Sports are hilarious, come laugh with us.”
In a post on August 2, it also clarified that the “this isn’t a true story”.
“It’s satire from a page that goes to great lengths to label itself as such. Please stop idolizing a fictional psychopath I created while taking a morning dump yesterday. I’m sure the real Yusuf Dikeç is a stable guy who trained hard for the Olympics and won a medal for his country. Or maybe he’s not; I don’t know. I just know I made up this version to try to make a few people laugh, and it got way out of hand,” the post read.
