Smriti Mandhana smashed her 10th ODI century in just 70 balls during the third ODI against Ireland on Wednesday at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium. The remarkable feat marks the fastest century by an Indian woman, breaking Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record of an 87-ball ton against South Africa in Bengaluru last year.

Mandhana’s latest knock places her joint-eighth on the all-time fastest centuries list, with Australia’s Meg Lanning holding the record for a 45-ball century in 2012.

The stand-in India captain also became the first Indian woman to notch up 10 ODI centuries and only the third opener in women’s ODIs to achieve the milestone. She now trails only Lanning (15) and Suzie Bates (13) for most ODI centuries in women’s cricket.
