India’s star wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was earlier disqualified from participating in the women’s 50kg final of freestyle wrestling for being overweight by mere grams, has now filed an appeal against the decision with the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
Multiple reports indicate that Vinesh has requested a shared silver medal, and CAS has requested a response to the appeal by Thursday morning, August 8.
As per ESPN, the appeal was filed through the Indian Olympic Association.
