PV Sindhu’s parents have said that they are proud of their daughter’s achievement. The parents, who were watching the live coverage of the match, broke down after their daughter won her semi-final game against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10 to reach the Final of the women’s singles event.
PV Ramna, the delighted father of PV Sindhu, said that her daughter’s real target is gold. “Everybody is proud of Sindhu, she has made the nation proud”, said Ramna. Acknowledging the efforts of coach Pullela Gopichand, he said that the latter worked very hard with Sindhu. “Both she and Gopichand are working very hard, if she plays like this then she will surely win tomorrow”, he added.

“When she was leading 15-10 in the second game then we thought that she will now win”, said Ramna, who is a volleyball player and Arjun award winner . Sindhu’s mother said that she, along with her husband, were visiting the temple daily to pray for their daughter’s victory. “We have been going to the temple everyday and even tomorrow we will. She will win by god’s grace. We will be celebrating now, we are extremely happy and proud” PV Sindhu’s mother said to media.
