Celebrations take place across the country

India’s 5 wicket victory in the finals in Dubai crowned the national side as Asian champions for a record ninth time. India’s decisive victory over Pakistan launched the entire country in celebration mode. Post the title clash social media platforms were flooded with the footage of Indian citizens celebrating the victory by gathering on the streets, shouting slogans and bursting fire crackers.

Glimpses of celebration from all across the country ranging from army canteens to city streets were posted on the internet. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta labeled India’s victory as an auspicious event, she further connected the event to upcoming festivities of Durga Puja and Navratri.

“From the bottom of my heart, I wish congratulations to the entire Indian cricket team for winning the Asia Cup… India’s historic victory during Navratri of Maa Durga is a joyous occasion for the 144 crore people of India,” Rekha Gupta told reporters after the game.

In a viral moment, Jasprit Bumrah gave a special send-off to Haris Rauf in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai on Sunday, where he mocked Rauf by repeating his ‘plane crash’ celebrations. India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah clean bowled Rauf in the 18th over of the game to send Pakistan down to a depressing 141 towards the end of 18 overs.
