Kagiso Rabada: South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the fastest bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, achieving this milestone during the first Test against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. With his remarkable performance, Rabada completed the feat in just 11,817 deliveries, surpassing Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis, who took 12,602 deliveries to reach the same landmark.

Rabada’s Remarkable Achievement

At the age of 29, Rabada achieved this milestone in his 65th Test match, making him the third-fastest South African bowler to hit the 300-wicket mark, following the likes of Dale Steyn (61 Tests) and Allan Donald (63 Tests).

Rabada, along with Wiaan Mulder, opened the bowling for South Africa after Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. The duo put in an impressive display, putting the Bangladeshi batters under pressure from the outset. Rabada claimed his historic 300th wicket in the 14th over, dismissing wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim with a well-executed good-length delivery that struck the top of the middle stump.

Dominant Bowling Performance

The South African bowling attack proved to be too formidable for the Bangladesh batsmen, as the home side was bundled out for a mere 106 runs. Both Rabada and Mulder, along with spinner Keshav Maharaj, claimed three wickets each, while Dane Piedt contributed by dismissing Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
