IPL 2024 date Announcement: As the fans wait for the announcement of the second phase of the Indian Premier League’s 17th edition, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has denied reports of the T20 league shifting the matches to the United Arab Emirates. Putting an end to all the buzz, Jay Shah recently said that the IPL authorities are working to come up with the next rota of the matches and there is no question of the tournament being played in the UAE due to the Lok Sabha Elections. According to an Indian Express report, Shah said that the IPL will be played ‘entirely’ in India.

There has been a lot of discussion around the imminent clash between the Lok Sabha polls and the IPL. The Election Commission of India had announced the full schedule of the General Polls on Saturday. The 2024 Lok Sabha Election will begin from April 19. Spread in seven phases, the counting of votes will take place on June 4.

On the other hand, the BCCI had announced the 21-match first phase of the IPL 17. This edition will begin from the March 22 opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

At that time, IPL officials had said that they will announce the second phase of the tournament after the full schedule of the Lok Sabha polls has been released. At present, the current rota of IPL shows the matches scheduled till April 7 next month. It should be noted that the IPL has to conclude in the last week of May as June first week will see the start of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
