Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of Team India, is set to resume his role as the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2025. Currently on a career break following Team India’s T20 World Cup victory in Barbados in June 2024, Dravid is expected to join the Royals soon. He will focus on player retention and preparations ahead of the upcoming auction.
Dravid has previously been involved with the Rajasthan Royals, serving as captain in 2012 and 2013, and as director and mentor in 2014 and 2015. Afterward, he took on a similar role with the Delhi Capitals in 2016. Kumar Sangakkara, who has been the director of Rajasthan Royals since 2021, will continue in his position.
Dravid will collaborate with Sanju Samson, who is set to remain the captain for this season. Samson began his career under Dravid’s guidance during the U-19 cricket circuit. Additionally, Vikram Rathour, who served as the batting coach under Dravid, may join the team as an assistant coach, according to ESPNCricinfo.
