IPL 2025: After a standout performance against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Quinton de Kock shared his two cents on his match-winning knock of an unbeaten 97 runs from 61 balls. His impressive innings, where he scored eight boundaries and six sixes, earned him the ‘Player of the Match’. His strike rate was an impressive 159.02.

Reflecting on his performance, de Kock mentioned how pleased he was to get the chance to contribute to the defending champions’ victory. “Nice to get my opportunity, and I wanted to make it count,” he said. He further said that after a three-month break, he didn’t feel any major challenges.

With only a 10-day build-up to the IPL 2025 season, de Kock said that he was focused on taking each game as it came. He explained that watching the wicket while batting second helped him to adapt to the conditions. He added that his main focus was on winning the match, rather than hitting big sixes or scoring huge runs.

De Kock also spoke about the pitch conditions at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, describing the surface as challenging with the ball turning and stopping. He noted that it was a “working man’s wicket,” and while he hopes for better pitch conditions in future games, the focus in this match was solely on securing the win.

With de Kock’s brilliant batting performance, KKR won by eight wickets against Rajasthan Royals in the sixth match of the IPL 2025. This victory marked KKR’s first win of the tournament, while Rajasthan Royals are now 0-2 in the competition.
