IPL 2024 Full Schedule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to announce the schedule of the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in phases, News18 reported citing sources. The report added that the Governing Council (GC), led by Arun Singh Dhumal, is in the process of finalising all the arrangements and the schedule for the initial phase of the league will be released shortly.
When will the final announcement be made in the matter?
A source privy to the developments told the outlet that discussions have been going on internally and the officials have figured out the schedule “more or less”, however, a final announcement is likely to be made when there are “necessary clearances from the Home Ministry and Election Commission of India on the polling schedule”.
Will the IPL be held outside India?
There are no plans to relocate the IPL outside of India despite the upcoming elections, ensuring that the entire league will take place within the country. Similar to the 2019 IPL season coinciding with General Elections, the schedule will be disclosed in stages, with the initial games’ schedule revealed prior to the full schedule, encompassing qualifiers, eliminators, and the final.
IPL 2024 teams
In the 2024 IPL season, there will be a total of 70 league matches along with four playoff matches, comprising two qualifiers, an eliminator, and the final.
The ten teams competing in the IPL 2024 are: Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants.
