The International Cricket Council (ICC) has brought the cheapest ticket in the cricketing history where cricket fans will be able to watch the matches of ICC Women’s world cup for just Rs 100. Yes, you read that right. The tournament will begin on September 30 and the ICC has announced ticketing details for the matches – that will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
The price of the tickets for all league matches in India which will be played in Indore, Vizag, Guwahati and Mumbai has been kept at a record low of Rs 100, reported the Indian Express. India will play Sri Lanka in the opening fixture at Guwahati.
How to book tickets for Rs 100
The game is just weeks away and hence fans have begun booking tickets, especially when the prices have dropped like never before. In an official statement, the ICC said, “This year’s edition will also set a new benchmark in accessibility, with record low prices for any ICC global event. Tickets for all league matches in India are priced at just INR 100 (approx. USD 1.14) in the first phase.”
“The fan-friendly pricing aims to ensure packed stadiums and enthusiastic crowds as the women’s game continues to grow in stature and global appeal,” it added.
The ICC expects to attract a large crowd at the stadium with the affordable prices.
About the tournament
The 13th edition of the Women’s World Cup is returning to India after 12 years. A total of eight teams will feature in the tournament: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, and South Africa.
The prize pool of the tournament is record USD 13.88 million — nearly four times the 2022 edition, the report added.
