India recently registered its last victory of the Super 4 stage of the tournament against Sri Lanka on Friday. The high-intensity battle was the first match of this edition of the Asia Cup that saw both sides score totals above 200 runs.
The Indian side initially set a target of 203 for Sri Lanka. However, the Lankan side, led by Nissanka and Perera, matched the score in a truly electric chase, sending the game for the first super over of the tournament.
India finally won the game in the super over after Arshdeep bowled an impressive over, which conceded only 2 runs and saw 2 wickets collapse in the second last spell of the match

Abhishek Sharma strengthened his position as the No. 1 ranked T20I batter after registering a successful T20I campaign. Yuvraj Singh’s student, Sharma scored 309 runs in six matches at an average of 51.50, including two half-centuries which made him the leading run scorer of the tournament. After Sharma, Tilak features in the 3rd spot of the updated rankings.

Varun rises to the top in ICC men’s T20 bowling rankings
Varun Chakravarthy was ranked 4th before the Asia Cup. The leg spinner’s consistent performances during the tournament, which saw him pick up crucial wickets and maintain an impressive economy rate propelled the spinner to the top spot, making him the world’s No. 1 T20I bowler. He gained 14 points throughout India’s Asia Cup campaign to reach 747 points.
