Harish Kajla has earned global recognition and made his country proud by successfully completing the Ironman Challenge in Copenhagen, Denmark, on August 18, 2024. Hailing from Haryana, Kajla’s achievement highlights his exceptional athletic prowess and dedication.

Kajla, an Assistant Commandant in the Border Security Force, is currently assigned to the National Security Guard, also known as the Black Cat Commandos. Kajla is notable for being the first officer from the Central Armed Police Forces to participate in the Ironman Challenge. The CAPFs include the BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), and AR (Assam Rifles).  

The Iron Man Challenge comprised 3 mammoth events which included, 3.8 km of Swim, 180 Km of Cycling, and 42.2 km of Full Marathon. Cut-off timing for the event (M35-39) was 15:45:00. He completed the event and achieved this historic feat in a time of 12:42:25.  

Kajla got interested in the marathon after joining the BSF. In 2022 Kajla did the half Ironman i.e. 70.3 in Goa. He has also completed the 100 km and 100 mile ultra run in Jaisalmer also known as hell race in 2022 and 2023.
