Cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag and Bharat Arun are among the voices that the cricket lovers would be hearing from the commentary box from September 9 as eight teams fight for the much-awaited Asia Cup. The tournament begins on Tuesday in the United Arab Emirates.
The 17th edition of the Asia Cup will witness India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong, fighting for the continental advantage ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup next year.
The multilingual commentary panel will feature Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag and Bharat Arun. Apart from them, Sanjay Manjrekar, Robin Uthappa, Bazid Khan, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Russel Arnold, and Simon Doull have also been roped in for the commentary panel.
Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Ajay Jadeja, former India batting coach Abhishek Nayar, and Saba Karim would be handling the Hindi commentary, something the Indian cricket fans wait for during any cricket tournament.
SKY to lead Indian team
Surya Kumar Yadav will be leading the Indian team in the tournament. India are part of Group A and will begin their game on Wednesday (Sept 10) against the UAE.
The much-looked for India-Pakistan match will be played on September 14. Both these clashes will be played in Dubai. India’s final group game will be against Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19.

This squad symbolizes the future of Indian cricket—diverse, versatile, and combative,” said Gavaskar in a release issued by Sony network, which will be broadcasting the matches live.
Asia Cup 2025
The Asia cup matches will begin on Tuesday with Afghanistan and Hong Kong fighting for the first victory of the tournament. The teams will clash to make it to the Super Four from group stage.
The Super Four stage will begin from September 20 and the final will be played on September 28 at Dubai International Stadium. Group A consists of India, Oman, UAE and Pakistan; whereas Group B has Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
