The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has informally agreed to a plea by telecom service providers to not enforce call drops compensation from Monday and would wait till Thursday when Supreme Court has listed the matter for a final disposal.
Though Trai chairman RS Sharma told FE that the authority has not taken a view in this regard and is reviewing the issue, it is learnt that the regulator will not take any extreme step before the matter is disposed off by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on March 4 refused to pass any interim order on compensations for call drop.
