With Chennai floods disrupting the Indian Railways schedule and upsetting the reservations list in unforeseen ways over the last few days as the trains have come to a grinding halt, the Southern Railway division has announced that it will be plying more special trains to clear the backlog of passengers as quickly as possible and thereby bring relief from the suffering they endured over the last few days. Here is the Southern Railway list:

SPECIAL TRAINS on 04.12.2015
1.Tirunelveli – Chennai Beach special train (via Madurai, Tiruchchirappali, Katpadi) will leave Tirunelveli at 20.00.hrs  on 04.12.2015.

Stoppages : Vanchi Maniyachi, Kovilpatti, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Perambur.

2..Rameswaram – Chennai Beach special train (via Karakudi, Salem & Katpadi) will leave Rameswaram at 21.00 hrs. o­n 04.12.2015.

Stoppages :  Manamadurai, Karaikkudi, Pudukkottai, Tiruchchirappali, Karur, Salem, Jolarpettai,  Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur & Perambur.

SPECIAL TRAINS o­n 05.12.2015
3. Chennai Beach toTirunelveli special train (via Katpadi, Villupuram, Tiruchchirappalli and Madurai).will leave Chennai Beach at 12.30 hrs on 05.12.2015 .

Stoppages: Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachi.

4. Chennai Beach to Rameswaram (via Katpadi, Salem, Karur, Trichchirappalli, Karakkudi) will leave Chennai Beach 12.30 hrs on 05.12.2015.

Stoppages: Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Karur,           Tiruchchirappalli,Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi and Manamadurai .

SPECIAL TRAIN on 04.12.2015

1.Mangalore – Arakkonam Special train (via Kozhikode, Shoranur, Coimbatore) will leave Mangalore at 20.00 hrs o­n 04.12.2015.

Stoppages : Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai  & Katpadi.

SPECIAL TRAIN on 05.12.2015
1.Arakkonam – Mangalore Special Train (via Coimbatore, Shoranur, Kozhikode) will leave Arakkonam at 12.00 hrs  on 05.12.2015 Stoppages: Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem,Erode, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikode,  Kannur  and  Kasaragod .
