Sultan box office collections: Salman Khan is grappling with Aamir Khan to beat his Dhoom 3 collections figure of Rs 284.27 crore, but the task is tough and will not be achieved easily, if at all. Aamir Khan is no pushover, as Salman Khan is finding out, and it will take a special effort to put the former on the mat. But the equation now includes Rajinikath's Kabali and he seems to be batting against Salman Khan Sultan collection. (Photo: Bollywood Hungama)

No guarantees, but Sultan is still in theaters and it is still being watched by people, but the numbers are thinning too fast for comfort. After all Salman Khan must not just be thinking of beating his close pal Aamir but also entering the Rs 300 crore exclusive club.

While the former is still within reach and, all things being equal plus there is no further big fall in earnings, Dhoom 3 should be behind Sultan box office collections Sunday latest. Theoretically speaking that is
-
But reaching there is not going to be easy. It is not that Aamir Khan can do anything about it. He can't. But others can play spoilsport and prevent Salman Khan from achieving either marks. Those others are none other than Rajinikanth's Kabali movie, which is expected to blow every film out of the water as soon as it releases across India. Kabali is expected to dominate not just southern cinemas, it is also expected to ensure a quick wrap-up of Sultan too. Kabali is releasing in 1,000 theatres in the north India but the thing is that these are some of the most important theatres, revenue-wise. (Photo: PTI)

So, will Kabali muscle-out Sultan and give Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 a booster shot by delivering a sucker-punch to Salman Khan's Sultan? Would that be fair play? With Rajinikanth looking to snatch the crown of king of moviedom from the 3 Khans and himself become the champion with Kabali, the southern superstar would really be gunning for Bhai. Kabali has a very good chance of actually doing that by garnering an above Rs 700 cr figure. (Photo: Bollywood Hungama)

Will that happen? Keep watching this space for the latest. But right now, it looks like Salman Khan's Eid holiday play, as far as dates are concerned, has really been spoiled as ideally, he would have liked a 3-week uninterrupted monopolistic run in theatres. (Photo: PTI)
