Fan box office collections: Shahrukh Khan movie lifetime collection in India has ended its run at Rs 79.25 crore. The highlights of its earnings include an Opening Day collection of Rs 19.20 crore, Opening Weekend collection of Rs 52.35 crore and End of Week 1 collection of Rs 71.50 crore. Clearly this will not be counted as one of SRK's outstanding movies as it failed to enter the Rs 100 cr club. Made on a budget of Rs 105 cr (Cost of Production Rs. 85 cr + Print & Publicity Rs. 20 cr) Fan released across 4600+ screens worldwide (India Screen Count – 3500+ International Screen Count – 1100+) the satellite rights of Fan were pre-sold to Sony Entertainment Television while other rights were exploited by YRF worldwide. The overall worldwide take (including India) of Fan is at Rs 174.29 cr and the best that the film has been able to do is enter the top 20 overseas grossers of all time list – at the 20th spot. The reasons for Fan's inability to strike a chord with the fans and the general theatre-going public have been listed time and again – from a missing lead actress, songs, item number, horror ending, to inability of fans to identify with the younger SRK in movie. In short, Fan failed to get a good word-of-mouth booster shot to send it rocketing on the way to becoming a super-hit. Moving beyond that, we take a look at an individual, apart from Shahrukh Khan, who has made waves in the movie and who is set to reap a windfall in the future based just on Fan movie. The actress we are talking about is Waluscha De Sousa. (Text: IANS)

Waluscha De Sousa, who forayed into Bollywood opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan through 'Fan', is basking in all the appreciation coming her way post the movie's success. She says the positive feedback acts as a motivational boost for her. After sashaying on the ramp as a model and then putting her professional life on the back burner for her family, Waluscha decided to take the leap into Hindi filmdom with 'Fan'. (Text: IANS)

Yash Raj Films' Fan' which released on April 15, featured Shahrukh Khan in a double role – one as a superstar and other his look-alike fan Gaurav, while Waluscha De Sousa plays SRK's real wife Gauri Khan on the silver screen. “I have been getting a lot of positive feedback ranging from 'You are looking really great onscreen' to 'You acted really well' to 'You held your own in front of Shahrukh'. So a lot of great compliments coming in and it is very encouraging at this point,” Waluscha told IANS over phone from Mumbai. (Text: IANS)

Waluscha De Sousa, 31, added: “There is so much coming in. Every day something new comes in. I am just enjoying it. It is very encouraging to have people say great things about you. I think the response from Maneesh was the most important to me. Maneesh said, 'The scenes that you have are not the easiest because there are so many mixed emotions. You have done a great job and held your own in front of Shah Rukh. You should be very proud of yourself'. When it comes from the director, it is the ultimate (compliment)," Waluscha said.
