Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh died today in Delhi of cardiac arrest at an Army hospital. He was 98. His leadership during the India-Pakistan war in 1965 ensured Pakistan was humiliated and India emerged the winner. Also, during the war, the IAF played a stellar role in providing the initiative to India despite the Pakistani Air Force having US supplied jet fighters. Paying tribute to the war hero, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India will never forget his excellent leadership in the India-Pakistan war. He posted this tweet: "India mourns the unfortunate demise of Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh. We remember his outstanding service to the nation".
