We are just a couple of days away from the India vs Australia ODI series which promises to be a riveting encounter between two cricketing giants. They say India is the new Australia and they may well be right. Even though India's dominance today is not the same as Australia's in the late 90s and early 2000, men in blue are on their path to achieving it under Virat Kohli. The Indian cricket team is more aggressive, talkative and dominant in the field than ever before. On the other hand, sledging comes naturally to Aussies. In past we have seen many fireworks whenever these two sides have come across and hopefully, this series won't be different either. Here are 5 rivalries to watch out for:

1. Virat Kohli vs Steve Smith The last time these two men came against each other earlier this year during the India-Australia Test series, a lot of noises were made. Smith's brain-fade was followed by Virat's controversial press conference providing a good build-up for an interesting reunion. (Image Source: AP/Reuters)
2. David Warner vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar Three months ago, Warner and Bhuvi were playing for the same team in the Indian Premier League and now they will be up against each other. Both these players have been sharing the dressing room for a while now and know each other's game really well. It will be interesting to see who wins the battle. (Image Source: AP/IE)
3. Hardik Pandya vs Glen Maxwell What is cricket without a few mad-heads? Hardik Pandya and Glen Maxwell have their own 'don't-care' attitude. Sometimes it makes them the biggest asset for the team while at times, they are the biggest liabilities. However, their team's success heavily depends on their individual performances. 4. Rohit Sharma vs James Faulkner The last time James Faulkner was in India for an ODI series, he went back after finishing Ishant Sharma's ODI career. Since then, the all-rounder has gone through a tough time in his own career and India might just be the place for him to find that golden touch. It will be an interesting battle between him and hit-man Rohit Sharma who is in superb form. (Image Source: PTI/AP)
5. MS Dhoni vs Adam Zampa Australia has selected baby-faced Adam Zampa as their frontline spinner. Having shared the dressing room with Zampa, MS Dhoni knows his game very well. This offers us a mouth-watering encounter in the middle-overs. (Image Source: Reuters)
