BJP never commented on Jawaharlal Nehru's sherwani, says Hussain
Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi over his "suit-boot ki sarkar" jibe, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said such criticism shows that Congress has become "direction-less" even as it claimed that it had never commented on the clothes which former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru chose to wear. “When you have no issue to comment on, you start commenting on people's clothes," BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said here. "Congress is trying to mislead the people by commenting on Prime Minister's clothes. Did we ever speak about the kind of sherwani Jawaharlal Nehru wore? We also did never discuss the clothes Congress president wears," he said. (Express Photo) (30/05/2015)

Centre backs Sushma Swaraj in Lalit Modi row
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that the PM Narendra Modi-led govt stands with Sushma Swaraj, who took a humanitarian approach and helped former IPL chairman Lalit Modi receive travel documents despite the red corner notice against him still in effect. "Sushma Swaraj ji has done the right thing. A person with humanitarian perspective should take the same steps. She had only told the British High Commissioner that if the United Kingdom's rules allowed him to help [Lalit Modi] then India would raise no objections. We justify her actions and the government is completely with her on her stand," Singh said. (PTI) -
Rahul Gandhi's Land Bill claims 'baseless', should do 'homework', says BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit back at Rahul Gandhi for his attack on the Narendra Modi government over the land Ordinance, saying he should do his homework and not make "wild" and "baseless" allegations as it was Congress that had played "havoc" with the poor with its "garibi hatao" slogan. Seeking to turn the tables on the opposition party, BJP asked Rahul to first explain the "politics of money over bodies" in Congress-ruled Uttarakhand in the wake of allegations of swindling of funds meant for the victims of the natural calamity that struck the hill state in 2013. "Rahul should first give an account of the corruption by Uttarakhand government. Rahul does not do any homework and the making of baseless allegations has become a part of his politics," said Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. (30/05/2015)
Narendra Modi's tough talk on religious bias not only against Hindus
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's straight talk on zero tolerance to religious discrimination is not only aimed at "pro-Hindutva" forces but also "bigots" converting Hindus, Shiv Sena said today as it raked up core saffron agenda including Article 370 and uniform civil code. "Prime Minister has taken a strong view against extremists by saying that communal intolerance will not be accepted. But the question is whom these comments were meant for. "Modi's statement has been projected as if it is meant for 'Hindutvavadis' in certain sections. But, we don't think that Modi had only Hindutvavadis in mind when he made those comments," Sena said in its party mouthpiece 'Saamana'. Modi had recently asserted that he will not tolerate any discrimination or violence against any community and termed anti-minority comments by some Sangh Parivar leaders as "unfortunate" and "uncalled for".
