"Rahul, who can't understand the difference between onion and pizza or brinjal and burger, is trying to become the leader of farmers. <b>Smriti Irani pushing RSS agenda in education, says Congress: </b> The Congress today alleged the country's education sector has been severely hit due to the influence of RSS and subsequent exit of many educationalists from top institutes since BJP came to power at the Centre. Former Union minister Girija Vyas said the HRD Ministry has systematically inducted RSS functionaries into several institutions and had taken many policy level decisions as per diktats of RSS. The Congress leader was speaking here on her party's take on education during the one-year tenure of BJP-led NDA government. "Instead of strengthening the education sector, HRD Minister Smriti Irani has put all her efforts to destroy reputed institutions, insult educationalists and appoint unqualified RSS functionaries on high positions," Vyas said. <b>432 people dead in Andhra Pradesh Telangana heat wave: 10 slides </b> The searing heatwave in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has killed 432 people so far with more deaths being reported today as vast swathes of the country reeled under the unrelenting summer heat. There was no respite in sight with the India Meteorological department warning that severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue in the two worst-hit southern states. The toll in the heatwave in Andhra Pradesh since May 18 rose to 246, after 84 more people succumbed across the state today, according to a senior official of the AP Disaster Management Department. The figure was based on information available from different districts until 7.15 pm. <b>Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, others rattled by heat wave: </b> In Delhi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43.5 degree celsius, a degree less than yesterday while Palam recorded 46 degree celsius. Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under sweltering heat with mercury in Allahabad touching 47.7 degree Celsius which was the hottest in the state. The steel city of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand experienced the hottest day of the season at 44.8 degree celsius, four degree above normal. Odisha virtually turned into a boiling cauldron as the searing heatwave conditions further intensified today with the mercury rising above 45 degree celsius in nine places and above 40 degree celsius in 19 towns. <b>Bhupinder Singh Hooda wouldn't have breathed in free air if I was CM, says BJP's Anil Vij: </b> A day after taking a dig at former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, state Health Minister Anil Vij today intensified his attack on Hooda. If I were the Chief Minister, Hooda would not have been taking breath in free air, Vij told reporters. The minister had tweeted yesterday, "Maine toh kabhi kuch banney ka socha nahein parantu yedhee mein CM hota to tera kya hota Kalia (I never thought of becoming anything, but if I was the Chief Minister then who would have saved you)". <b>Bihar places five districts on alert after Nepal landslide: </b> The Bihar government today sounded flood alert in five districts after a massive landslide, triggered by recent earthquakes, blocked the Kali Gandaki river at Benibazar in Myagdi district of Nepal, leading to accumulation of a huge volume of water there. "We have alerted East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran districts on the situation. Our department officials are also on alert. We have asked them to be prepared as a sudden breach in the Kali Gandaki river blockage may increase the water level," Water Resources Department (WRD) Secretary Dipak Kumar Singh said. Several hundred villages dot the low-lying riverine area of Gandak and they are the ones that face the immediate threat from the rising level of water.
