"I want to ask, if Centre has given money, where is it? Delivering an address from a stage and claiming that thousands of crore have been given is easy, they (BJP leaders) should tell how and when it was given. I say BJP is the most 'chalu' (shrewd)," Yadav said. He was speaking during an event at his official residence where he distributed cheques to farmers whose crops were destroyed due to unseasonal rains. Claiming that the Samajwadi Party government was trying to help farmers, Yadav said the state government has given Rs 7 lakh to the kin of farmers who died due to shock after suffering from crop loss. "The Centre should have given Rs 14 lakh," he said. (PTI)

<br>Actress Sunny Leone charged with obscenity:</br> Bollywood actress Sunny Leone has been booked by Dombivali police here for alleged distribution of obscene content on web and social networking sites. According to a police release today, the offence was registered last night against the 34-year-old actor under sections 292, 292 A, 294 r/w 34 of the IPC besides being charged under Section 3 and 4 of Indian Representation of Women and IT Act. The offence was registered based on a complaint by one Anjali Palan (30) a housewife who stated that while surfing the internet she found several obscene posts and pictures of the actress, they said. Also, Palan found "objectionable" material on the actor's website Sunneyleone.com. "Such posts poison the minds of people and especially children," she said in her complaint. (Bollywood Hungama)

<br>Officer gets 'warning' over violation during PM Narendra Modi meeting:</br> Chhattisgarh IAS officer Amit Kataria, who wore a blue striped shirt and sunglasses while receiving PM Narendra Modi last week, has got a stern warning from the state government for violation of dress code and protocol. In a warning letter issued to Kataria, who is Collector of Jagdalpur, the government said while receiving the PM on May nine "it has come to notice that you were not wearing a proper dress and had also put on sunglasses". The IAS officer was supposed to be dressed in 'Bandhgala' while receiving the Prime Minister as he was representing the state government in the district. (PTI)

<br>Arvind Kejriwal's AAP govt hauls up DCW chief over Kumar Vishwas case:</br> Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government today slapped a showcause notice on Delhi Commission for Women chief Barkha Singh, asking why she should not be removed from the post for allegedly abusing power in dealing with a complaint against ruling AAP leader Kumar Vishwas. The AAP government has asked Singh, a former Congress MLA who is due to retire as DCW chief in July, to file her reply to the showcause notice within three days which it said was issued following complaints against her by a member of the panel. Complaints have been received from Juhi Khan, member of DCW, "bringing to the notice of the government the irregular activities being carried out by you (Singh) in the capacity of Chairperson of DCW while dealing with a complaint filed by someone against Kumar Vishwas," the showcause notice said. "The persons connected to the alleged incident are residents of state of Uttar Pradesh and the place of alleged incident is also in UP, hence prima facie, your notice is beyond the jurisdiction of the Commission," the government said in the notice. <br>550 CCTVs to be installed for Kumbh mela in Maharashtra at the cost of Rs 15 cr:</br> As many as 550 CCTV cameras will be installed for security purpose in Trimbakeshwar and Nashik city for the forthcoming Kumbh mela, where over eight crore devotees are likely to arrive, a Maharashtra Home department official said. About 200 CCTVs will be installed in Trimbakeshwar and 350 cameras in the Nashik city. The Kumbh mela is slated to start from July 14 in Nashik. "Since this is a temporary set up of CCTVs, the cost would be much less as compared to permanent installation. In Nashik, the project will cost us around Rs 11 crore while in Trimbakeshwar it would be about Rs 4.1 crore. The work order has been given 15 days back," an official said. (Reuters)

Even as the blame-game over the death of a girl in Moga after being pushed from a moving bus, which belonged to a company run by CM Parkash Singh Barnala family, continues, at least two other cases of alleged harassment of girls has come to light – one vehicle allegedly belongs to an Akali leader. In the first incident, two sisters aged 13 and 15 years were allegedly harassed by the conductor of a private bus said to be owned by an Akali leader in Muktsar district. The girls hailing from Kotli Sangar village in Muktsar district had come to the tehsil office here to get their Aadhaar cards made. When they were on their way back on Wednesday evening, a conductor of a private bus allegedly started harassing them. They were asked to disembark from the vehicle at Kotkapura chowk. (Thinkstock)

"By constantly meddling in the affairs of the government, the Courts will lose their reputation," it said. Decrying "personality cult" as an anti-thesis of democracy, the Supreme Court had on Wednesday barred publication of photos of leaders in government advertisements except those of the President, Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India. Together with Li, he inspected the guard of honour and then settled for formal talks with him during which the two sides were expected to discuss a host of issues including the border issue as well as Chinese investments in India. Several agreements were expected to signed after Modi-Li talks. This is the second round of talks Modi is having with the Chinese leadership during his current three-day China trip. (PTI)

<br>Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders in court over drug and prostitution case:</br> Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and three other AAP leaders, accused of violating prohibitory orders here and obstructing public servants in discharge of their duty during an agitation, today appeared in a Delhi court. Kejriwal, Sisodia and AAP leaders Rakhi Birla, Somnath Bharti and Ashutosh were present in the court. They were chargesheeted by the Delhi Police in connection with staging a protest against police officials outside Rail Bhavan last year. All accused were earlier granted bail by the court. Kejriwal and other leaders had staged a 'dharna' outside Rail Bhavan demanding action against police officials who had refused to carry out raid on an alleged drug and prostitution racket in South Delhi in January last year.
