A massive fire broke out at the Tomorrowland music festival venue in Boom, Belgium, on Wednesday. The incident has severely damaged the event’s iconic main stage just days before the festival is scheduled to open. The organizers have confirmed that no injuries have been reported, but the fire has led to massive damage and has also spread into nearby woodland. Videos have been shared on social media platforms, showing the structure, and thick black smoke is seen coming out from the site.
The annual electronic music festival was set to commence on Friday, attracting tens of thousands from Europe as well as from around the world. In an official statement, the organisers expressed their grief and confirmed the incident, stating, ‘’Our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged, ‘’as quoted by Associated Press. They have also stated that efforts are currently going on to find solutions and save the upcoming festival weekend. The reason for the fire is still not known. -
