Air India Flight to London plunges moments after takeoff in Ahmedabad, with 242 people on board, on Thursday. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane crashed into the residential quarters of doctors from BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar area and burst into flames.
A video on social media that went viral shows the aircraft rapidly losing altitude, with its nose up, before it hit a building and exploded emitting immense smoke.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the casualty site in Ahmedabad today to understand and assess the ground situation firsthand. -
Air India confirmed that 241 out of 242 people on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft died in the tragic crash of the Ahmedabad-London flight. The passengers included 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian national. (Photo Source – PTI)
