In her career, Sunita Kejriwal was posted as Commissioner of IT in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in New Delhi. Sunita served in the central government for over 20 years and this gives her right to all pension benefits under the scheme. (PTI)

Sunita Kejriwal had sought VRS earlier this year. An official order in this connection has been issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday. According to the order, her VRS would be effective from July 15. "Upon considering her notice for voluntary retirement from government service, the President of India is pleased to allow Sunita Kejriwal to retire from government service with effect from July 15." Sunita Kejriwal will have to, according to the order, "seek prior permission from the government if she wishes to take commercial employment with in one year of her retirement". Kejriwal qualified for the civil services in 1994 and joined the revenue services in 1995. (PTI)
