The standout and feature rich small car Renault Kwid has been launched priced at Rs 2.57 lakh in India on Thursday and it will make the already highly competitive market a very fiercely contested one indeed – so much the better for the customer, of course; here we look at the Renault Kwid and compare it with its nearest rivals like Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Alto K10, Datsun GO and Hyundai EON. What is evident, first off, is that the Renault Kwid is priced lower than Alto 800 and the rest of the A-segment crowd. It has emerged as India's second most economically priced car and is second only to the Tata Motors' 'people's car' the Nano. However, though the Renault Kwid price is competitive in the A-segment, the sheer size and features on the new car can shame a B-segment hatch and for that matter even the B+ segment cars.
