Nitin Fire Protection Industries shares hit an upper circuit on Monday on reports that film star Amitabh Bachchan bought 0.51 per cent stake in the company through a bulk deal on NSE on Friday (August 14).

The share price of the company jumped 9.93 per cent to 47.05 on BSE. Around 12.23 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 3.66 lakh shares in the two weeks.

On NSE, it jumped 9.91 per cent to Rs 47.15.

On Friday, Bollywood star Amitabh Harivanshrai Bachchan bought 15 lakh shares of Nitin Fire Protection Industries at Rs 42.99 each, according to disclosures made under bulk deal on NSE (National Stock Exchange).

For the quarter ended June 2015, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 20.77 crore, up 10.53 per cent, against Rs 18.79 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Nitin Fire Protection Industries provides fire detection and fire suppression systems, and manufactures fire extinguishers.
