On Thursday, the benchmark indices ended lower after a volatile session. The Sensex slipped 592.67 points, or 0.70%, to close at 84,404.46, while the Nifty declined 176.05 points, or 0.68%, to settle at 25,877.85.

Asian markets
Asian markets opened mostly higher on Friday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 up over 1% and the Topix also trading in the green. In South Korea, the Kospi and Kosdaq inched higher in early deals, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose about 0.45% at the open.
US-China trade deal
The U.S. and China reached a partial trade agreement after a meeting between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping in South Korea on Thursday. The understanding helped ease tensions over rare earth exports, reducing fears of a deeper trade conflict between the world’s two largest economies.
US markets
In the U.S., major indices ended Thursday’s session lower as investors reacted to mixed Big Tech earnings. The S&P 500 slipped 0.99% to 6,822.34, the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.57% to 23,581.14, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 109.88 points, or 0.23%, to close at 47,522.12.
US dollar
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.07% lower at 99.43 on Friday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee appreciated 0.56% to close at 88.70 to the dollar on October 30.
Crude oil
Crude oil prices edged lower on Friday morning. WTI crude was down 0.27% at $60.31 per barrel, while Brent crude slipped 0.43% to $64.09 per barrel.
FII, DII data
Foreign investors turned net sellers in the Indian equity market on Thursday, offloading shares worth Rs 3,078 crore, according to provisional stock exchange data. In contrast, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) continued their buying streak, making net purchases worth Rs 2,469 crore during the same session.
Gold rate today
In the latest on the yellow metal, the gold rate in Dubai, 24-carat gold was priced at AED 481 per gram, while 22-carat traded at AED 446 per gram and 18-carat at AED 366.50 per gram.
