Petrol, Diesel Price Today 9 October 2024: The price of Brent crude futures was down by $4 per barrel, the reason behind the decline remains the same concerns of likely disruptions in the oil supply because of the Israel-Iran conflict. As per latest data, Brent crude futures were low by $3.57 or 4.41% to $77.36 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Test Intermediate (WTI) futures witness a decline of $3.68 or 4.77% at $73.45 per barrel.
Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has mentioned that India is ready to manage any disruptions in the oil supply that may take place because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. ‘’There is no need to panic,’’ Puri gave assurance and added that there is a sufficient amount of global oil supplies. India is the world’s third-largest oil importer and is heavily dependent on imports which is 85% of its crude oil demand. As per the minister, the current situation is ‘’manageable’’.
