Petrol, Diesel Price Today 19 December 2024: Oil prices declined in early morning trade on Thursday, as the US Federal Reserve indicated that it would lower the speed of interest rate cuts in 2025. As per the latest update, Brent crude futures went down by 33 cents and settled at $73.06 per barrel whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined by 34 cents and was at $70.22 per barrel. The drop in the prices removed all the gains achieved on Wednesday. On that day, prices climbed up because US crude oil stocks decreased and the Federal Reserve lowered the interest rates by 0.25% as it was anticipated. Although the gains were short-lived the central bank presented a stricter outlook for 2025, and it is still making the investors on guard.
According to Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities Ltd, ‘’We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today’s session. Crude oil is having support at $69.05-68.60 and resistance is at $70.30-71.00 today’s session. In INR crude oil has support at Rs 5,940-5,880 while resistance at Rs 6,060-6,140.’’
