ChatGPT is down for thousands of users across the globe, as most people see an error stating “unusual activity detected”. People said that they are not able to load the chat history, and different users are seeing different error messages while trying to use the chatbot, either on the web or the app. According to Downdetector, 91 per cent of Indians reported an outage with ChatGPT, with 5 per cent on the app and 4 per cent on the website. The outage, per the Downdetector, has been reported primarily from Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
In the United States, thousands of users reported the outage. Around 81 per cent of the people faced issues with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, with 10 per cent on the website and 9 per cent on the app, Downdetector reported.

OpenAI, on its status page, has acknowledged the issue reported by thousands of users across the globe. “We’re currently experiencing issues,” it said. OpenAI has identified 23 components which have been affected due to the outage, including login, web, and mobile app.
“We have identified that users are experiencing elevated errors for the impacted services. We are working on implementing a mitigation,” it said, adding that it has identified “degraded performance”.
An hour ago, the ChatGPT maker said that it is “ investigating the issue for the listed services”.
