While the rest of the market is busy catering to the high-end segment of the smartphone space, Xiaomi has jumped into the competitive budget 5G segment with the launch of the Redmi 15C 5G in India. Positioned as a direct successor to the Redmi 14C, the new smartphone focuses on offering a better media consumption experience and endurance, bundling a huge battery with a high-refresh-rate display, all at an aggressive starting price.

The Redmi 15C 5G has been launched in India with three variants and is available for purchase starting December 11. The base model, featuring 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, is priced at Rs 12,499. Moving up, the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is available for Rs 13,999. The top-end option, offering 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is priced at Rs 15,499. Customers can choose from three colourways, which include Moonlight Blue, Dusk Purple, and Midnight Black.

The Redmi 15C 5G will be purchasable across major online platforms, including Amazon.in and Mi.com, as well as authorised Xiaomi retail partners nationwide.

The Redmi 15C 5G boasts a large 6.9-inch HD+ display featuring a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The screen also includes triple TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light and flicker-free viewing, enhancing eye comfort. A core feature is the massive 6,000mAh battery a significant upgrade from its predecessor, thus promising multi-day usage. This is coupled with 33W fast charging support, with the compatible adapter conveniently included in the box. The phone also supports 10W reverse charging, allowing it to act as a power bank for other devices.

For optics, the device is equipped with a 50MP AI dual-camera system on the rear, suitable for capturing clear images across various lighting conditions. It features an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, promising protection against splashes. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm audio jack.
