It’s almost Christmas and we are already preparing for Christmass to welcome our beloved Santa Claus and get gifts from him. But did you know who the real Santa Claus is ? Well, there’s not much known about the real Santa Claus. But some scientists claim that they have found out who the real Santa is! Let’s have a detailed look at the real man behind our beloved Santa Claus!
Who is the real Santa Claus?
According to mythology, the Dutch Christmas figure Sinterklaas was named as Santa Claus. But this character is also imaginary. However, some speculations suggest that Santa Claus was famously inspired by Saint Nicholas of Myra. He was an early Christian saint. Born on March 15, 1270 in present-day Turkiye’s Patara in Anatolia. From then Saint Nicholas is considered the patron saint of students, sailors, toymakers, and unmarried people, among others.
Some legends suggest that he was a revered Christian saint. In addition to this he also resurrected three murdered children. These children were pickled in a brine, which a butcher was planning to sell as pork meat.
He was also listed as an attendee in the first council of Nicaea in 325. Some old news about the event highlighted that it is here where Saint Nicholas slapped a heretic Arius. Due to this inappropriate behaviour, he was imprisoned temporarily and defrocked. Now, coming back to this present, about two millennia later scientists constructed a 3D imagery of what the saint looked like. This picture is based on the data collected in the 1950s by Luigi Martino. Luigi Martino is an Italian professor.
Netizens reacts
Looking at the newly founded information netizens took the internet by storm. Some reacted on social media platforms. Some said that scientists are making up things. Others suggested that the image looked like PM Narendra Modi. Another said that it looked like a fraud. Some said that Santa Claus looked like some non-biological being.
One user even wrote that while the West has Santa Claus, India has its own Jhaansa Claus. Also some compared the picture to Rahul Gandhi! Even he wasn’t spared.
