WhatsApp’s latest update: Chat event guests
WhatsApp continues to improve its platform, adding helpful features that make staying connected and organising events even easier. WaBetaInfo, the website that keeps an eye on all WhatsApp-related developments, reports that WhatsApp in its latest update allows users to add guests directly into chat events. This new capability comes with the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.3.17.
How does the new WhatsApp feature work?
When creating a chat event, WhatsApp users will now see an option called “Allow Guests” option when creating any event. By enabling this feature, event creators can easily invite others to join the event chat.
To recall, previously users could only choose to accept or decline invitations. With this update, users can now also add guests to the mix. Say you’re throwing a virtual birthday party on WhatsApp and want to include more people in the celebration. Instead of having to create a separate group or send private invites to new guests, you can simply click “Allow Guests” when setting up the event. Then, invite your friends to join the chat and share party details with ease. Currently, this feature is being rolled out to a small group of beta testers, so it may not be available for everyone just yet. However, WhatsApp is likely to roll out this functionality to all users in the coming months.
