WhatsApp in a recent update for WhatsApp beta on Android, version 2.23.19.16, has introduced significant enhancements to its calling features. Users now have the ability to initiate group calls with a remarkable 31 participants, a significant increase from the previous limit of 15 people.
This latest update, as spotted by WaBetaInfo, brings some notable changes to the interface of the calls tab. Previously, call links were displayed within this section, but they have now been removed. The updated design now shows the possibility of making calls to one or more contacts. Furthermore, the floating action button within the tab has been updated to feature a plus icon.

WhatsApp previously allowed group calls of up to 32 participants in earlier updates, users were initially restricted to selecting only 15 contacts when initiating such calls. This limitation often caused confusion and inconvenience. However, with these recent improvements, users can now immediately begin large group calls by selecting up to 32 participants, including the caller who initiated the call.
These updates are currently available to a limited number of beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store. WhatsApp intends to roll out these features to a broader user base over the coming weeks, ensuring that more users can enjoy the improved calling capabilities.
