No more sharing the ‘Tea with screenshots’, as WhatsApp reportedly plans to ban its users from screenshots of profile pictures on iOS.

A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo portrayed that a message will occur on the screen notifying users that taking screenshots of profile photos has been blocked to protect everyone’s privacy on the app.

“WhatsApp is working on a feature that will restrict users from taking screenshots of profile pictures on iOS,”  as explained by WA Beta Info reports.

No more sharing!

According to the report, the new feature will offer you with an added layer of privacy protection. Experts suggest that the new feature will block users from capturing and sharing profile photos without the owner’s consent. “The latest update from WhatsApp’s beta program for iOS, version 24.10.10.70 available through TestFlight shows that new security measures are being tested for the app,” The WA Beta Info report added further.

This WhatsApp feature can also reduce the risk of profile photos being misused or distributed without permission by stopping users from taking screenshots. Looking from the past cyberthreat incidents and deepfake scams of misusing pictures for illegal activities, this might come as a rescue!

Furthermore, it is expected that WhatsApp plans to bring a feature to block screenshots of profile pictures. Reportedly, the new feature will be available in a future update of the app.

Any new plans further?

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will offer you with a dedicated “filter” to quickly get a list of your favourites from the chats tab on Android. Now you will be able to find your favourites ASAP! No need to go through your long list of contacts.

Experts suggest that with the expected new chat filter, you will also get easy access and prioritise specific conversations with their favourite contacts and groups.
