Microsoft has announced the launch of its popular AI chatbot, Copilot, on the Telegram app. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT model, the Copilot bot will provide users with a wide range of information, including travel tips, sports updates, and movie recommendations. Using Bing search, it will offer detailed, text-based responses to user queries.
Currently, the Copilot AI assistant bot supports only text responses and does not generate images or videos.
To use the Copilot Telegram bot, follow these steps:
- Open Telegram and Search: Launch the Telegram app and search for “Microsoft Copilot.”
- Start and Accept Terms: Tap on “Start” and accept the terms and conditions.
- Mobile Number Verification: To ensure a secure experience, verify your mobile number linked with your Telegram account. Note that Microsoft does not store your number. Click on the “Send my mobile number” button to share your number automatically.
- Initiate Conversation: Type your question or prompt to start a conversation with the AI chatbot. Users are currently limited to 30 conversations per day.
This integration marks a significant expansion of Copilot’s availability, bringing Microsoft’s AI capabilities directly to Telegram users. Telegram is not the first app to integrate an AI chatbot. Previously Meta rolled out Meta AI across WhatsApp and Instagram.
Meta AI inside WhatsApp and Instagram lets you have a free-flowing conversation with the chatbot based on the Meta’s Llama model. It is designed to answer queries and respond to follow-up questions in a way very similar to how you would use ChatGPT. Meta additionally also gives you an option to generate photos through text prompts, sort of like DALL-E.
