Meta-owned instant messaging platform is updating itself like anything, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. WhatsApp recently received several updates including Channels and, the ability to send HD photos on both iOS and Android, and also a revamp is in the works.
The newest in the queue is the ability to rewind and forward videos without tapping on the progress bar, similar to YouTube. Quite frankly, it is one of the features that many users asked for. This was first spotted by reliable tipster WABetaInfo.

The new feature is currently available in WhatsApp beta for Android, but it’s expected to roll out to more people in the coming days. To use the feature, simply double-tap on the left or right side of the video to rewind or forward it, respectively. You can also swipe left or right to rewind or forward the video.
This is a great improvement over the current system, which requires users to tap on the progress bar and then drag it to the desired point in the video.

WABetaInfo highlights that the feature is currently available to beta testers and WhatsApp might roll out these new playback buttons to more people in the coming days. The publication also added a screenshot of the upcoming where the tap buttons are visible on the left and right side.
Although goes without saying, Meta hasn’t announced anything yet that’s why the release date or an expected time schedule remains hush-hush.
