Vivo phones are known for their strong emphasis on cameras and designs. The new Vivo V50, launched today in India, is likely to continue this legacy, packing sharp features that appeal to photography enthusiasts and design-conscious users alike. With its 50MP ZEISS cameras and stunning design, the Vivo V50 enters the mid-phone market with a promising future.
Let’s talk about the display and performance
The most crucial aspect of any phone is its display and how it performs in its everyday usage. While the answer to the latter part can only be given once we’ve reviewed the phone (watch out this space for our review), the new Vivo V50 sports a 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4500 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the V50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, supported by up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Looking at the ZEISS camera system
One of the standout features of the Vivo V50 is its camera setup. The phone comes equipped with a 50MP rear camera featuring Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and ZEISS optics, claiming to capture detailed, high-quality photos even in low-light conditions. There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP front camera, both with ZEISS branding. Additionally, the phone supports 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras.
Battery- the biggest
The Vivo V50 stands out in terms of battery life with its massive 6000mAh battery, the largest in its category. It supports 90W fast charging. The company claims it to be the slimmest phone in the 6000mAh battery category.
Design, durability, and AI features
Vivo offers the V50 in three stunning colours: Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night. The Starry Night variant features India’s first 3D-Star Technology, transforming the back panel into a dynamic canvas that changes with its surroundings. The phone is also IP68 and IP69 certified, offering excellent dust and water resistance.
The Vivo V50 runs on Android 15 with FunTouch OS 15, packing in a suite of AI-powered features such as Transcript Assist, which converts audio to text, Live Call Translation for real-time conversation translation, and Google’s Circle to Search.
